In a recent survey of 123 African American women, 21-60 years of age, researchers have found that hair care practices can be a barrier to regular physical activity! More than one-third of those surveyed indicated they avoid exercise at times because they do not want to ruin their hair.
PositiveTip: Ruining an expensive hairstyle can be expensive, but avoiding exercise can add up to increased risks of diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.
