A laboratory study of 10 inactive adults (mean age, 69) with elevated fasting blood glucose levels experienced better 3-hour post-meal glucose levels when they walked for 15 minutes after each meal. This was compared to a single daily 45 minute walk either in the morning or the afternoon. The shorter and longer walks each improved 24-hour glycemic control.
PositiveTip: Physical activity is essential for good health–even multiple short walks each day are beneficial.
