Analysis of two long-term, randomized trials comparing standard CPR with compression-only CPR followed-up for 5 years found that compression-only CPR was associated with a lower risk for death at all time intervals. (The adjusted hazard ratio was 0.91). This is the first long-term definitive data that supports the 2010 Advanced Cardiac Life Support Guidelines.
PositiveTip: If you are a bystander to an adult with cardiac arrest, pump that chest and forget the breaths.
