Nationwide Salmonella Outbreak

Local, state and federal inspectors (the few still working during the shutdown) have traced almost 300 cases of Salmonella heidelberg to three California Foster Farms raw chicken products. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has noted that products with P6137, P6137A, or P7632 on the USDA mark of inspection are suspect. Foster Farms initially denied a problem, but the USDA has now threatened to shut down these plants.

PositiveTip: The best way of preventing this infection is to avoid exposure to raw chicken products. Try some vegetarian alternatives!
