Over 3000 people were asked to estimate calorie content of meals they purchased at repeated visits to six fast-food chain restaurants. Average actual meal content was underestimated by 24% for children (adults made the estimate), 34% for adolescents, and 21% for adults. Noticing the posted calorie estimates in the restaurants did not affect the accuracy of the estimates!
PositiveTip: Don't be fooled by careful positioning of some fast-food establishments as a "healthier" option! Make wise choices!
