A nationwide survey of youth in the United States has reported that only 22.3% of students ate fruits and vegetables (including 100% fruit juice, and excluding french fries and chips) five or more times per day during the last 7 days before the survey was taken. Overall, 9th graders ate more than 12th graders, and males ate more than females.
PositiveTip: Fruits and vegetables contain many protective nutrients. Make sure your children get at least 5 servings per day.
