Detergent Capsules and Young Kids

Almost 500 cases of accidental exposure to laundry detergent capsules (pods) were reported to poison control centers during May and June 2012. The majority of cases involved children 5 years old or younger. The most frequent adverse health effects were vomitting and coughing/choking. Although pod packaging is very convenient for the user, it often looks like candy to a child.

PositiveTip: Keep all household cleaners out of sight and reach of young children.
