Harvard researchers have analyzed data from both the Nurses’ Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study and found a significant increase in the hazard ratio for coronary disease in those with type AB blood compared to those with type O blood. This association held true when other lifestyle factors such as diabetes and smoking were present. The authors suggest this may be due to clotting factor differences.
PositveTip: Non-O blood groups may need to be even more careful to reduce their CHD risk factors.
