Beat Hot Flashes with Weight Loss

Researchers have observed that menopausal women who lost at least 10 pounds during a year-long low-fat dietary program were 23% more likely to have fewer hot flashes and night sweats than those who did not lose weight. Those who lost 10% or more of their beginning weight were 56% more likely to see resolution of their symptoms. These findings were based on more than 17,000 women enrolled in the Women’s Health Initiative.
