Seventeen brands of over-the-counter dietary supplements were analyzed by a group of international researchers. These weight loss and sports supplements were found to contain a surprising mixture of banned and unapproved stimulants. Each specimen was purchased online, and selected because the label said it contained deterenol which was banned from supplements by the FDA in 2004. In all, nine banned stimulants, and eight different combinations of stimulants were found.
PositiveTip: Avoid all stimulants for weight loss or performance enhancement for good health and safety. Even the “natural” may have dangerous substances.
