A small, 3 week, randomized study of 51 adolescents (27 girls) found those who ran 30 minutes before school (7:00 AM) experienced better subjective quality of sleep, mood in the morning, and the ability to concentrate compared to those who simply sat by the track conversing with friends. Girls in the running group also had significantly lower daytime sleepiness and insominia scores.
PositiveTip: Early morning physical activity enhances the quality of adolescent’s days–and probalby adults too.
