Married men and women experienced significantly lower mortality risk from acute coronary syndromes (ACS) than the unmarried, according to a 15-year Finnish study. Unmarried men and women were twice as likely to die after an ACS event if they were unmarried, and they also experienced higher rates of ACS. Variations of treatment could not explain the differences in mortality.
PositiveTip: A committed relationship in marriage reduces the risk of ACS–and can significantly enrich life.
